I just received a reverse 911 call on my cell phone at 1:05 regarding the mountain lion in the Oaks. This is just a reminder for everyone to make sure you register your cell phone with the reverse 911 system to ensure you are being notified about events that affect your neighborhood.

May 18, 2009 meeting
Dear Team, Neighbors and Friends,
Once again it is time to get together to share our thoughts on how we can make our Neighborhood safe. Next Meeting is scheduled to be May 18, 2009. Our topic will be "Identity Theft" Same place Bedell School at 6pm-6:30p- social. Meeting to follow. On the Agenda......................
1. Det. Lusk and Sergeant.Codero will be doing a presentation regarding identity theft.
2. What is in the future for Neighborhood Watch? Please if you have any thoughts or information or if you would like to send topics to me feel free to do so. We are excited about all of this. Block captains are beginning to come in place. Steve Lattimore (Say Road) is ready to send out his introduction letter to folks on Say Road.
We encourage everyone who walk their dogs in the oaks area to just be aware of your neighbors homes and surroundings. If your out take watch of your area. You do not have to watch the whole oaks area. That is for other walkers and block captains. Feel free to contact your block captain via email or phone with ideas and thoughts. They will pass out a introduction letter soon. Make sure if your involved to let your block captain know your address and phone and email. This is how they will keep you updated. Carry your cell phones if you have them when you walk. If you see any suspicious activity remember- DO NOT take matters in your own hands. Just look for details about description when you report to the police. BE SHORT and descript. BE PROUD OF WHAT YOUR PRESENCE HAS DONE SO FAR.......CRIME IS DOWN IN THE OAKS.
Most of all have fun getting to know your neighbors. Until you all have a block captains I will be sending you information from time to time. We are working on a Newsletter and website and Blog for our neighborhood. This will also be updated and include information you may need. Our goal is to make sure we are safe and that we let our neighbors know that we are here to help one another. Happy Spring!!! Please also let me know if you ever want to be removed from this list.
Thank You
